14/04/07: As you can see from above we finally have a download service to purchase the single from. It takes sms, paypal, and all credit/debit cards as payment. The track should also make itunes in the next couple of weeks.

04/04/07: Yup, no downloads yet. Oh dear. But we have been added to the Sounds from the Other City Festival in May...see gigs!

14/03/07: Unfortunately due to a mix up between the label and distributors the single won't be out on download until the 19th March along with the vinyl. However the vinyl can still be pre-ordered from the link above. Downloads should be available on all main trading sites (itunes, emusic, tesco downloads etc) and the vinyl available in the shops from 19th at all hmvs/virgins/independent record stores.

08/03/07: The Hair have confirmed a gig for Popworld Promotes (of Popworld channel 4 fame) at the Faversham in Leeds on Thurs 15th March with Yes Boss. On some time after half 8.

10/01/07: The:Hair are delighted to announce we will be releasing a single on 7" Vinyl (500 ltd edition) and download with new Fierce Panda label "Cool for Cats Records". The A side will be "Ghosts" and B-side "Left Foot Right Foot", both tracks are newly recorded at Pravda studios in Leeds. There will also be a remix by Uncle Buck (Zane Lowe home taping)  available to buy on download. More news on the single coming soon!

The first news is that we are now on 9:15 on NYE... secondly, for your Xmas enjoyment, you can find a selection of photos from our summer festival appearances over in the gallery & also a recording of live favourite Bunny Boiler, from the Carling Stage at Leeds, over on the tracks page. 25/10/06: The stage time for the band's In the City gig at Dry bar in Manchester is now 8:40pm. Sam has booked an acoustic gig for 26th Oct in Leeds for Oxjam...See gigs page!

06/10/06: Huw Stephens played us on Radio one on Wednesday and the track and his interview with Neil can be heard on the best of unsigned podcast for a week only HERE.

06/10/06: We have booked 5 supports with the Sunshine Underground now, and one with Radio 4! To get on the 50 person guestlist to our mine gig on 17th email band@hairmusic.co.uk with your name. There are some more reviews and an interview on the press page.

23/09/06: Unfortunately the band has had to cancel the London show. We promise to return soon, but we've added a load of gigs to the gigs page now so check them out!

16/09/06: Bad News: Rich has broken his elbow and has had to undergo surgery to get it fixed. He will still feature in gigs (eventually), but in the meantime we are recruiting deputies starting with James from local band Duels on 23rd! All the gigs remain booked including a new one with the Sunshine Underground at Leeds Met!

30/08/06: Thanks to all who came to the Leeds Festival show. It was totally immense, like both the other festivals!

16/08/06: The:Hair have been featured in the NME this week as part of a "New Yorkshire Rave" Fever! Page 30 in this week's issue.

12/08/2006: The band are looking to build a small collection of live recordings on the site, as and when we can make them! They will be available to download from the 'tracks' page and to start with you can find a live performance of Drawing Board, made at the Fav in Leeds earlier in the year.R

09/08/2006: The day at Leeds festival has been confirmed as 12:50 on the Topman Stage on the Sunday. Also, tickets now available for the Fav headline in September. Note this will sell out on the night as its freshers week. Get them HERE.

01/08/2006: The band made it to the final six of a Rizla sponsored competition to play Bestival (on the Isle of Wight) judged by Rob da Bank. The band appear on a podcast HERE

01/08/2006: The Hair have made it through Futuresound and will now play Leeds Festival! More details will follow soon, but in the meantime we would like to thank everyone for their fantastic support during the heat and hope to see you all at Bramham Park later in the month!

29/07/05: The Hair return to the studio at the start of Sept to record a demo of Ghosts and probably 2 others. Fab.

02/08/05: Sam is doing a couple acoustic sets, one in Oct at York Uni, and one Tues 9th Aug at Acoustic Mafia.

01/08/05: The Hair have made into the final 35 out of 400 entrants for the Sandman Leeds Fest comp. Winners announced very soon…

28/07/05: The Futuresound announcement for the leeds festival places is on Fri 5th August at the Cockpit Bar from 8-9:30pm. Be there! And bring rotten fruit to throw if we don't get in! Only kidding. Well actually we're not.

24/07/05: Thanks to all who supported Yorkollective's gigs. There are new pictures on the gallery page from the Cargo gig. We have also confirmed a gig at the Fav in Leeds on Freshers week.

15/07/05: Thanks to everyone who came to see us on tour. Loved it. We have confirmed new gigs for September at Wakefield, Northallerton  and Sheffield.

06/06/2005: This Saturday's gig is a club night extending till 2am. Only £4 too. Unheard of! If you like live bands and indie DJs we suggest you arrive at the mixing tin (nr virgin megastore). Doors 9pm, first band 10pm. The hair on at 12am. ACE.

04/06/2005: Unfortunately our Fibbers gig on 22nd July has moved to Wed 20th July.

04/06/2005: York's contemporary arts mag Aesthetica has given us a sparkling review. Nice people. The issue is launched on 29th June with an event at the City Screen.

26/4/2005: Thanks to everyone that came down tonight. Our gig at City Screen turned out to be at Orgasmic because of floods! Guerilla Gig on! Next York date 26th May @ Fibbers.

22/4/2005: We are being played on 104.9 XFM's unsigned show on Wed 27th April (10pm). You can hear it on www.xfm.co.uk in the North. You have the chance to hear the other bands and vote us into a midday slot by going to www.xfm.co.uk/unsigned the week of the play.

14/2/2005: Sam has had to cancel his acoustic gig on 23rd Feb due to a dislocated shoulder. tits.

10/2/2005: We have a return date for Neil! He will be back in the country on 17th March!

8/2/2005: Well we've had more solid press, including a feature on international site playlouder.com who gave us "The Turner Prize that is for Demos" . Which is rather bloody nice of them. What are you waiting for? Download our tracks (for free) and see what you think!

7/02/2005: Its been a while! Neil is still down under and loving it, and Sam has been to Arizona to take in college life, dude. We are getting some nice reviews through for our haircuts cd (which you can download for free from the music page of this site), and Sam is doing an acoustic session at the Golden Lion in a couple of weeks (see gigs page).

20/12/2004: We've rounded up a great year (and rich's anniversary) with 4 new recordings thanks to Guy Thomas of Soberskin and his fantastic production. All four tracks are now available on our music page. Thanks to everyone who has taken interest in the band you've made it a great year for us. This website will soon move to a new wep space so the annoying adverts will cease. Thanks for your patience!
